My Approach

My Approach

I hold a strong belief that people have the capacity to manage and/or recover from life difficulties if they play an active role in their health and participate fully in therapy and other activities that will aid their recovery.

I believe that a person is an expert of his/her own life and has the capacity to change and achieve his/her realistic dreams and goals in life, when well supported and given the right opportunity in life. I also believe no condition is permanent, as life itself is an evolving process with constant change.

My frame work of practice has an individual/family centered approach, and works from a strengths-based perspective and family partnership approach and utilizes a combination of therapeutic approaches; some of which are as follows: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Attachment based therapy, Emotional Focus Therapy, Narrative therapy, schema-focused therapy, Gottman’s Couple Therapy,  as well as mindfulness based/self-compassion therapies. My therapeutic approach is respectful, non-judgmental, gentle, patient, compassionate and individual/family centered approach.

I also believe in the importance of evaluating client outcomes and therefore utilizing a number of methods to assess client progress and satisfaction.
