About Me

Hi there. I’m Fadekemi Banji-Oke; an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, owner and founder of LivingSpring Hope Centre, (a counselling and Therapeutic Service). I have been working as a social worker for over 8 years. I completed my second University Training at The University of Queensland with Bachelor of Social Work and also completed a Master degree in Social Work (in the field of Child Youth and Family). For many years I have had a passion for helping people develop healthier relationships with self and others, as well living life to their full potential!

I am a Medicare provider.

I have worked for Queensland Health in various roles including services that provided assistance to individual adults, young adults, children and their families, parents experiencing severe and complex mental health problems and adjustment to diagnosis or being a parent. I also currently work for Children Health Services Queensland –Child Health Services that provide assistance to parents, babies and children 0-8 years. I work with parents and their children/ babies on various issues such as mother-child attachment and bonding related issues and adult attachment related issues.

I am available to work with people experiencing a range of life difficulties and also more complex mental health conditions, loss and grief, Trauma (ASD, PTSD and any Complex Trauma), Couple relationship issues and general relationship issues, Domestic and family violence prevention, anger management, etc.

I believe in maintaining a strong connection with up-to-date research and I do this by participating actively in the professional Social Work community and also consistently and constantly improving my practice knowledge through attendance to professional development programs.

I have a keen interest in working with adults (both young and old) and children 0-12 and teenagers on issues around mental health issues, trauma (all types), grief and loss, attachment relations issues, family relationship issues as well as couples, new parent/s adjustment issues and life transitions, chronic pain. Domestic and family violence prevention and its impact on mental and physical health.

On a personal note I am married with two children and in my spare time I like to practice spiritual meditation in my practice faith and believe, I love to cook, bake, enjoy time with my family and friends, socialize, serve my community, listen to music, worship God, dance and go walking.
